5 WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

With Christmas fast approaching it's time to sit down with a cup of tea, take a few deep breaths and start some list writing. Here are our TOP FIVE WAYS to relax, enjoy and re-connect with family and friends and enjoy the fun the silly season brings.

1. START EARLY, PLAN & BUDGET

It goes without saying (I know right!) that if you start organising and shopping early, you will significantly reduce your stress levels.

Start with your calendar and then the lists:

  • Schedule in all events up until New Year's Eve including hosting for Christmas Day (or confirm what you are bringing in terms of food and gifts if it's not at your place)
  • Christmas Shopping Lists (Parents, Teachers, Sister-in-laws, Aunties, Uncles, Grandparents, siblings, nieces, nephews, neighbours etc.)
  • Decide if you are putting up a Christmas Tree and outdoor lighting and schedule in sourcing/ decorating/ any other help you need.
  • Do a rough budget so that you can keep your spend at a comfortable level.

2. SHOP LOCALLY OR ON-LINE

From groceries to anything pretty, pink & sparkly, almost all of your gift giving can be done locally or on-line buying Australian brands. For all your girly gifts Pink Poppy has almost every area across Australia covered - please see our updated store finder at http://www.pinkpoppy.com.au/site/pages/storefinder or just pop into our on-line store - a one stop shop for your 3+ year olds at http://www.pinkpoppy.com.au

And always have a couple of boxes of chocolates or similar in the cupboard for surprise last minute gifts!

3. BOOK YOUR HAIR & BEAUTY APPOINTMENTS IN NOW

This is the one thing I often forget but it's great to get this on the calendar.

 4. SPRING CLEAN YOUR WARDROBE, KITCHEN & LIVING AREAS

When your home is organised you always feel more under control, so a little bit each week will make a great difference by the time Christmas rolls around.

5. BOOK TIME OUT TO DO SOMETHING YOU LOVE

Don't forget to spend time filling up your own bucket, as we start to run on empty after a full year of giving to our families. Whether it be a lunch with girlfriends, a morning at the beach by yourself or a massage. It's a busy time, so important to have some personal time.

Now I should take a leaf out of our Pink Poppy blog and do this myself. Even choosing one or two things will make a difference!
